Thank you for attending our first cycling sportive

On Thursday 8th September, we held our first cycling sportive. Even with the forecasted threat of a torrential storm, everyone kept their fingers crossed and the sun smiled down on us all day.

Over 30 cyclists gathered at South Staffordshire Sailing Club to join FDC in completing a 4-hour circular cycle around the roads of Cannock Chase. Taking in the views and catching up with connections, cyclists met back at the sailing club for a well-deserved drink and lunch beside the shimmering Gailey Reservoir.

Ed Bradburn, Investment Director at FDC said “FDC’s first sportive cycling event was a huge success. We had the weather on our side, everyone enjoyed the cycling, and it was great to catch-up with both old and new faces.

“We hope that next year will be just as good, if not better, when we will be introducing a walking route for those who prefer footpaths over cycle lanes.

“FDC would like to thank everyone who attended, and we were thankful there were no cyclones or injuries on the day.”
